Ryder Django Nel

Ryder Nel is a Berlin-based videographer and filmmaker originally from Durban, South Africa. He began his creative journey in his early teens, filming and producing skateboarding videos, an experience that helped shape his distinctive visual style and strong work ethic. What started with his father’s old dad cam quickly became an obsession, especially shooting on classic formats like Super 8, Hi8, and MiniDV.

Since then, Ryder has worked on a wide range of projects for global brands including Monster Energy, Red Bull, Ballantine’s, Windhoek Beer, and Strongbow, as well as respected skate companies such as Element Skateboards and Vans. With roots in skate culture and a passion for authentic storytelling, his work combines raw energy, cinematic detail, and a deep understanding of movement and culture.
